TRI-C KARTERS HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE OFFICIAL ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE (RMC) CLUB FOR THE 2012 RACING SEASON IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION.
Tri-C will be working in partnership with the MAXSpeed Group, the national RMax support group to host the Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) races in Southern California. As the only official Southern California RMC club, Tri-C will be the place to earn your race punches required to attend the Rotax Grand Nationals and the Pan American Championship.
Dennis Uebersetzig, President of Tri-C Karters says “Tri-C is honored to be selected as the official RMC Series. We look forward to working with the MAXSpeed Group to expand the Rotax program, and we are committed to being proactive in promoting both the RMC program and kart racing in the region.” In addition, Tri-C Karters has teamed up with several local shops and Rotax dealers to promote the RMC program and provide support at the track.
It has been known for some time that the Rotax engine is one of the most popular recreational karting engines. In an effort to attract more recreational karters, rule changes have been made that will allow any Rotax owner to race what they have, no need for the latest clutch or cylinder update.
Tri-C firmly believes that kart racing is the best value for your money in the motorsports industry, and is working on some very exciting programs with the aim of keeping costs down, yet the camaraderie and fun factor up. These programs will be attractive to current and new kart racers alike. Specifics will be released as the details become finalized, and they will just add to Tri-C’s current strengths of a more relaxed race day, Saturday racing, a specialized and customer service orientated staff and a scheduled race day so you’ll know exactly what time to be on the grid. Another advantage to racing with Tri-C is that it isn’t just a winner of the main takes all scenario. Racers can also earn championship points by winning pole position, setting fast lap in the main and scoring points in both heat races. The Tri-C race format includes more track time that other clubs with practice, qualifying, 2 scored heat races and a main event.
For anyone interested in racing with Tri-C in 2012, they are extending an invitation to their Season Kick Off party on Sunday January 15th, 2012. Visit the club website at www.tri-ckarters.com for more information and access to the registration form. While you’re there, to ensure you receive all the latest information as it becomes available, make sure to sign up for their email newsletter.

Gatorz Challenge of the Americas returns for fifth season
September 6, 2011 (Orange, Calif.) – The Gatorz Challenge of the Americas, the west coast’s winter karting championship, is returning for a fifth season. With a renewed interest from teams in the western United States and throughout Canada, the Rotax Max championship will feature large fields in seven classes of racing beginning in January and ending in April.
For the first time, the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas will kick off its season at the Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson, Arizona, on January 27-29. For its second race, the series will return on February 24-26 to the PKRA circuit in Phoenix, Arizona, which has hosted the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas in each year. For its finale, the series will return to the Calspeed Karting Center in Fontana, California on March 30-April 1.
The 2012 schedule will offer racers a better chance for dry weather as the series has suffered with a history of heavy rain in each of its seasons.
The series has also worked to avoid conflicts with the Florida Winter Tour, SKUSA, and Calstate Karting. Responding to customer requests, the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas and the FWT will have a one week buffer between the January and March dates.
“We’re excited to be back for a fifth year of Gatorz racing on the west coast,” said Andy Seesemann, owner of the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas. “Interest in our series is as high as ever and we have worked hard to avoid conflicts with the other major series. Also, we are excited to go to Musselman Honda Circuit for the first time. It is a great circuit that produces great racing, and is an ideal place to host the season opener of the 2012 Gatorz Challenge of the Americas.”

Pan American Rotax Challenge Event in Colorado Cancelled
[From ekartingnews: http://www.ekartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=18753]
Over the weekend, MAXSpeed Group announced to its members that the Pan American Rotax Challenge Western United States Qualifier event at The Track at Centennial in Colorado has been cancelled. Due to low pre-registration numbers, the August 12-14 event has been called off. Speaking with a number of industry members, American drivers took advantage of the Canadian Qualifying events to earn their final punches toward the series championship event, where drivers can earn spots to the Rotax Grand Finals in United Arab Emirates.
The following is a statement sent out by the MAXSpeed Group, “Jim Keesling and The Track at Centennial staff were all excited to host this event but due to the circumstances, it was not economical to have this race take place. We are sorry for any disrupted plans that this may have brought upon any team or family. All pre-registered drivers have been accepted as registered for the event and have been informed individually about the situation.
EKN contacted the MAXSpeed Group and confirmed that those drivers who did register will receive the necessary punches to compete at the Pan American Rotax Challenge Championship event at New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana on September 21-25. Speaking with Pan American Challenge administrator Bill Wright, over 200 drivers from 10 different countries are qualified for the event and confirmed entries are rolling in steadily since official registration opened August 3. Gatorz Champions crowned in the rain in Sonoma
March 22, 2011 (Orange, Calif.) – It just wouldn’t be the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas without a little bit of rain to make the Canadians feel more welcome. However, there aren’t many people that would describe the rain that befell the final weekend of the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California over the weekend as a ‘little bit of rain’.
However, even with a lake in the ‘Tic Tac Toe’ section of the National configuration of the kart track at Infineon Raceway forming, nothing was going to stop the one hundred drivers of the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas from battling for their trips to the Rotax Grand Nationals and Rotax Grand Finals. The event, while soggy, would provide an exciting conclusion for all classes in what has been the most successful season yet of the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas.
